BRIDG 5.3.1

Published Date:

The Biomedical Research Integrated Domain Group (BRIDG) Model is a domain information model designed for translational and clinical-protocol driven research. It enables meaningful data exchange by providing a common understanding of biomedical research concepts and their relationships with health care semantics. Software systems created from BRIDG have shared meaning “baked in,” enabling interoperability among disparate systems.

Based on the HL7 Reference Information Model (RIM) model, which serves as a foundational framework within HL7 for healthcare information, the BRIDG model brings together different standards communities to clarify the semantics of clinical research across pharmaceutical, regulatory and research organizations. The collaborative initiative includes the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC), Health Level Seven (HL7), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
