Position Overview:
Flawlessly plan and execute internal and external events, working with the Head of Events to guide logistics, registration, and production of global in-person events that showcase CDISC’s standards and tools, enhancing our organization’s image and meeting budgetary and strategic goals.
As an Event Manager for global CDISC events, some weeknight, early morning, and weekend support is required for this position. The ability to work across time zones and support events during some weekends and weeknights is a requirement for this position.
Location: Remote, located within 100 miles of Austin, TX preferred
Salary: Annual salary US$60,000.00 - $75,000.00

Responsibilities:
- Track multiple, simultaneous projects and proactively collaborate internally and externally to ensure adherence to project timelines. Manage and implement CDISC events to include setup, registration, and logistics for multiple global CDISC internal and external events.
- Coordinate with venue and vendor contacts in a timely manner, overseeing event space layouts, food & beverage, audio/visual, mobile and virtual event technology to ensure flawless execution.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the events budget. Help track expenses to ensure adherence.
- Manage events-related tools and technologies, such as Cvent, mobile applications, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, CDISC Events webpages and forms, and CDISC Wiki/Jira, ensuring they remain current and relevant.
- Facilitate orientations for speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and staff. Provide technical and logistical support before, during and after events.
- Partner with Supervisor to develop and maintain task lists and timelines to meet deliverables for each planned event. Meet deadlines and communicate effectively to shepherd projects through to completion.
- Act as CDISC liaison to the global CDISC Coordinating Committees (3Cs). Support 3Cs’ program planning efforts, coordinate on-site event roles and responsibilities, join planning calls and follow-up on actions. Represents CDISC at CDISC Events and external, industry events when necessary. In all activities and communications, represents CDISC professionally and demonstrates commitment to the organization.
- Drive global shipping needs ensuring packing and shipping schedules are met. Keep track of events inventory.
- Triages and responds to requests and questions related to events and performs miscellaneous customer service to support sponsors/exhibitors, registrants and potential registrants.
- Supports other Events-related tasks and special projects as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years of professional experience in events management or event marketing.
- 3 years of experience successfully managing hotel contracts, venue and vendor contracts.
- 3 years’ event management software experience.
- 3 years’ Event Mobile App development experience.
- 3 years’ on-site audio/visual experience.
- Experience with events management tools and virtual conference platforms, or similar tools.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to communicate professionally both written and verbally. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with computer and internet technologies, including Microsoft Office software (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and to learn new software quickly.
- Must be highly organized and possess strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively, attending, hosting and moderating virtual events and meetings.
- Must be able to travel 25%, domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7 years of professional experience in events management.
- Experience working in a virtual organization or capacity.
- Experience developing and managing global events and volunteer / logistics teams.
- Experience working with volunteers in event development.
- Experience with Cvent and Microsoft Teams.
- Must be able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining a high level of quality and detail.
Physical Activities
This position will require a moderate amount of physical work. Work will be conducted in both a standard home office environment, requiring the ability to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, as well as at conference locations around the globe. Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds, with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and navigate short distances within the workplace and at events. Must be able to travel domestically and internationally by car, airplane or other transit.
